This volume, in honour of one of the Odysseuses in Aegean archaeology, Professor Robert Laffineur, comprises a combination of papers presented during a seminar series on recent developments in Mycenaean archaeology at the Université de Louvain during the academic year 2015-2016. These were organised within the frame of the ARC13/18-049 (concerted research action) 'A World in Crisis?'To these are added a series of papers by friends of Robert Laffineur who were keen to offer a contribution to honour him foremost as a friend and scholar in his own right but also as editor of a respected international series founded by him - Aegaeum - and as the driving force and inspiration behind the biannual Aegean meetings that have travelled the world. Several papers within touch scientific domains close to Robert's heart while others present new excavations or new interpretations of known data.

It shows the different ways in which day-to-day activities of organisations shape migration policies on the ground. This book offers a comprehensive exploration on how different migration policies are implemented day by day. Such an approach allows to show the different ways in which migration policies on the ground take a life of their own when compared to the letter of the law. The book shows the need to understand the specific logics and workings of the implementation of policies, while taking into account the continued role played by politicians and the judiciary, non-state actors and migrants. Qualitative research with different public institutions implementing migration policies are combined with an exploration of the role of NGOs, supranational institutions and the migrants themselves. Bringing together the results of several research projects with fieldwork in Belgium, the UK, France, Morocco and Malta, the book covers the different stages of the migratory career. It follows the potential trajectory of a migrant from visa obtention (both in general and for students specifically) to border controls, asylum (including resettlement and gender and sexuality-based asylum), access to residence (with a specific focus on marriage-based residence), healthcare and nationality, or to detention and managed return migration. Through its chapters it shows the day-to-day logics, routines and tactics that bureaucrats and other actors adopt, within the constrains of laws, social interactions, and ideas about policies.

L'Asie du Sud - l'Inde en tête - a réinventé le sécularisme, en l'adaptant à l'immense diversité religieuse de la région. Mais les dernières décennies ont vu cette réinvention subir, dans chaque pays, de sérieux coups de boutoir - indépendamment de la religion dominante (hindouisme, islam ou bouddhisme) et des régimes politiques (démocratiques ou autoritaires). C'est ce processus que ce volume entend analyser à travers l'étude des dynamiques à l'oeuvre dans chacun des pays concernés, de l'Inde à l'Afghanistan, en passant par le Pakistan, le Bangladesh, Sri Lanka et le Népal. Partout, la tendance est à une identification de l'Etat à la religion majoritaire qui, certes, varie beaucoup selon les pays. Les minorités religieuses sont naturellement les premières à ressentir l'influence de ce déclin du sécularisme ; là encore, certaines convergences apparaissent, se lisant en tout premier lieu dans la morphologie de la violence. Mais si le constat de cette évolution fait l'objet d'un consensus, sa nature et son ampleur restent largement débattues, comme le montrent les différentes tonalités des contributions ici réunies. Au-delà du sécularisme, ce numéro s'attache aussi à déconstruire le couple religion-politique à travers des études de cas où le lien de causalité est loin d'être systématique, même lorsqu'il est attendu, et où la relation entre les champs connaît des transformations inédites.
À mesure que le déclassement a été perçu comme un problème contemporain, il est devenu un objet de premier plan pour la sociologie des inégalités et, dans une moindre mesure, pour les études historiques qui ont privilégié les formes de mobilité ascendante, celles qui sont aussi les plus productrices de sources. En prenant en compte l'Ancien Régime tout en englobant le moment révolutionnaire, cet ouvrage collectif observe, à partir des terrains français et italiens, le phénomène du déclassement dans le cadre d'un ordre hiérarchique, rigide, pensé comme naturel donc immuable, mais qui n'était pas immobile, alternant des périodes de plus ou moins grande ouverture ou fermeture, mais aussi dans une phase de rupture, de transition et de redéfinition où la perte de statut et de fortune a pu s'accompagner d'opportunités de reclassement. Les études ici réunies ont été guidées par un questionnaire commun : montrer la difficulté d'appréhender des situations de déclassement où se mêlaient, selon des degrés variables, appauvrissement, déshonneur, déchéance morale ; restituer la parole - rare - des acteurs historiques sur leur expérience du déclassement ; montrer la difficulté de mesurer le déclassement à partir de marqueurs objectifs tant il s'agissait d'un phénomène relatif, parfois paradoxal, conditionné par un environnement social lui-même mouvant ; envisager le déclassement comme un processus en s'attachant à l'interprétation de trajectoires personnelles et collectives ; interroger, enfin, le rôle joué par l'État dans l'ordonnancement des frontières sociales.

This paper examines the ambivalent influence of the UN Security Council's practice on the development of international refugee protection since the early 1990s. While the international refugee protection regime did not originally foresee a role for the Security Council, the increasingly complex security challenges in the post-Cold War era have led to its de facto inclusion in the institutional framework of protection. After having used its wide discretionary powers under the UN Charter to link refugee flows with its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security, the Security Council thus began to strengthen different aspects of international refugee protection. This work aims to shed light on the evolution of the Lebanese political arena after the withdrawal of Syrian troops in April 2005 by analyzing the perceptions of Hizballah among members of the Free Patriotic Movement (FPM), as the alliance between the two groups enters its fourth year.
